Question 1
Tell us a little bit about you.
Where are you from?
Well, I was born here in Salt Lake City. My father was an electrical engineer and got a job in Southern California. So from the age of 5 until about 30 years ago. I lived in Southern California. That’s where I met my husband and started a family. We moved back to Utah 30 years ago this year and have loved living here and raising our family, we have two boys. Now I live in South Jordan, close to my family and extended family.
The thing that I do, really it’s mindset and lifestyle. The reason I do it is that it has changed my life is my life to the better. I am currently living in the present, and able to overcome worry and anxiety, and fear. By practicing the tools that I teach I know that it works and it’s so powerful and helpful to me and to others. I just want to pay it forward and help others so that they can live their best life, doing what they want, and showing up the way they want to be.

Question 2
Where did your passion come from?
My passion comes from the innate desire to connect with others and have those deep conversations that help us to change and inspire us to be better
Just knowing that we’re not all in it alone. Everyone is going through something, but the way that we get through our struggles can look different. We can use tools but it might look different and we can learn from each other different perspectives. I think that’s what I love about the work that I do.

Question 3
What did you build in Soul Seed Academy?
Soul Seed, It’s really a place where I discovered what I wanted to do.
When I first started at Soul Seed Academy I was very very timid. I thought, “Should I even be here? I didn’t really know what my business was. Then I soon learned that it didn’t matter that I didn’t know what it was yet. Because I had the desire to help others and they helped me to figure out what that was. I learned a lot about myself during the process.
I mostly built my website and figured out how to tell my story. I learned how to be confident in what I was doing.
It’s like you are surrounded by coaches and people who know how to do it. They believe in you and give you that extra encouragement and spark ideas to help you propel yourself forwards.

Question 4
Tell us about your business.
How does it work?
I am becoming a certified guide with Safe Harbors. We teach the tools over a 12 week period and help class students to practice those tools during the week. It’s called Safe harbors because we kind of compare it to like we’re building a boat, and getting to our destinations. Everyone has an instrument panel that we are learning how to use to get to our destination, and everybody has a destination. It could be a goal that you have or an intention. It could be just wanting to show up better in the world. Whatever it is that your vision is centered around. We teach tools that help you to find your way through all of the struggles and all the things that set your back, hold you down and prevent you from being the creator of that vision of what you want.

Question 5
What has been the hardest part of your journey so far?
The hardest part of my journey has been myself it’s been resistance in myself. I constantly come up against and it’s almost like you walk along and you know what you want and it feels good and everything seems to be working in then all of a sudden you find yourself down in the bottom of a pit, right and it’s hard to get yourself back out of it.
Being able to climb back out and not rebound back to whatever was safe and conmfortable. It was when I realized that it was me that was preventing me myself climbing out of the pit to the other side because of my fear and because I felt inadequate. When I realize that I can take fear along with me. That it could be my friend because everything is scary right? Everything new in an uncertain.
Everything that we have never done before can make us feel fearful and uncomfortable and and then just knowing that I gave me that extra power to realize that it doesn’t matter how it looks. It can be messy it doesn’t have to look perfect. I just need to be doing it. It gets easier and I learn with each step and I climb a little bit higher. It’s really empowering when we give ourselves the right thoughts and realize what we are capable of. Holding onto that vision until we actually can believe it.

Question 6
What does healing the world look like to you?
It’s a place where people are free from the turmoil in their lives. Where they’re free to be who they are intended to be, who they were created to be. And to be able to live in peace and harmony with themselves first, and then, because of that they are then able to extend that out into their environment and help others to feel that same peace and feeling surety in themselves.
To me, it’s just a peaceful joyful world that we could all live in together because we’re all being and doing whatever that is for each of us. It’s also acknowledging each other‘s differences and loving those parts of ourselves and loving the differences in each other.
